This project provides temporary accommodation for nine young people aged 16-19 who are from the local community and are homeless, or in severe risk of becoming homeless, in self contained accommodation with communal space. Two beds are funded by Rochdale Young People's Support Team for the use of young people in the care of the local authority. The hostel has 24 hour staff cover and works with young people who have high support needs. Many of these young people come from a background of care, and staff help them to gain independent living skills whilst helping them to find appropriate long term accommodation.
Statham House was recently used as a Best Practice Model by CLG. Download the case study for more information.
